Vibhuti Yoga

"The Yoga of Divine Glories"

Chapter 10 reveals Krushna's divine manifestations (vibhuti) in the world. Krushna explains how He can be recognized in the most excellent and glorious aspects of creation, inspiring deeper devotion and understanding.

🌟 The Source of All

  • Krushna is the source of all beings and all creation—everything emanates from Him.
  • The wise worship Him with love, understanding His supreme position.
  • He is the origin of the seven great sages, four Kumaras, and Manus who populate the worlds.
  • One who truly knows His glories and mystic power becomes unshakably established in devotion.
"I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who know this perfectly engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts." (Verse 8)

🧠 Divine Consciousness and Devotion

  • Krushna's devotees are always absorbed in thinking of Him and speaking about Him to others.
  • He gives them the intelligence by which they can come to Him.
  • Out of compassion, He destroys the darkness of ignorance with the lamp of knowledge.
  • True devotees derive great satisfaction and bliss from always conversing about Krushna.
"To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me." (Verse 10)

🎭 Arjuna's Recognition

  • Arjuna acknowledges Krushna as the Supreme Brahman, the ultimate purifier, and the Absolute Truth.
  • Great sages like Narada, Asita, Devala, and Vyasa have all declared Krushna's divine nature.
  • Now Krushna Himself is confirming these truths to Arjuna directly.
  • Arjuna requests Krushna to describe His divine manifestations further.
"You are the Supreme Brahman, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest." (Verse 12)

⭐ Divine Manifestations

  • Among souls: Krushna is the individual consciousness in all beings.
  • Among the Adityas: He is Vishnu; among lights, the radiant sun.
  • Among the Maruts: He is Marici; among stars, the moon.
  • Among Vedas: He is Sama Veda; among demigods, Indra.
  • Among senses: He is the mind; among living beings, consciousness.
"Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both the seed and the eternal." (Verse 39)

♾️ The Endless Divine Glories

  • Krushna tells Arjuna that His divine manifestations are endless—what He has described is just a partial glimpse.
  • Whatever beautiful, glorious, or powerful exists, know it to be a fragment of Krushna's splendor.
  • With just one fragment of Himself, Krushna pervades and supports the entire universe.
  • Rather than trying to know all His manifestations, it's better to simply understand His infinite nature and surrender in devotion.
"But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe." (Verse 42)
